  • You don’t need any vaccines for your trip to Costa Rica. Observe that in particular swamps areas on the moist Caribbean side there are (though rare) mosquitoes that can be contagious with malaria and dengue fever. Stay away from these areas.
  • The water quality in Costa Rica is good, but if you want to be on the safe side, drink bottle water. It’s completely safe to brush your teeth with tap water.
  • You can eat everything in Costa Rica if only you assume normal precautions.
  • When travelling to Costa Rica you should bring charcoal tablets, water-resistant patches and regular ointment for itching and burning insect bites.
